Public Spaces and Recreation

"A Park for a School" is a project in which public schools, managed by the state, are benefited with the construction of parks for the enjoyment of students during recess periods. In 2013 and 2014, in collaboration with the Center for Cultural and Educational Research (CICE), we donated eleven playgrounds in San Fernando de Apure.

For the past four years, we have collaborated with the “Misioneras de la Caridad” and the “Fundación Amor Gruta de Belen”, offering homeless children the opportunity to participate in recreational activities. Chamos has sponsored children's sports sessions at the facilities of Universidad Católica Andres Bello (UCAB), walks to the beach and Christmas parties.

Since 2017, the Chamos Foundation collaborates with the organization Trazando Espacios Públicos (TEP) which is focused on teaching and building citizenship through participatory design to transform public spaces. The organization develops 4-month programs aimed at children and adolescents between 10 and 14 years old who live in communities in need of transformation. Chamos has sponsored four TEP programs for the reconstruction of (1) La Ceiba, Petare Sur. (2) San Blas, Petare Sur. (3) El Calvario del Hatillo I. (4) El Calvario del Hatillo II.

In 2020, we aspire to help transform two new communities in Petare.
