As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to devastate Venezuela, we have received numerous requests from our partners for masks and antibacterial gel – resources that are extremely scarce but can make a huge difference to their ability to continue carrying out their projects.
This August and September, thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who donated to our urgent appeal for funds, we were able to purchase and distribute over 5,000 masks and over 60 gallons of antibacterial gel to 8 soup kitchens and 4 schools, impacting over 1,000 children.
Thousands of children and their families across Venezuela rely on programmes like those of our partners – which provide nutrition, healthcare, education, and community services to those most in need. By enabling our partners to carry out their work safely – and by protecting the health of those working on the front line – we hope to ensure the continuation of these vital programmes and improve the wellbeing of vulnerable people across the country.
