In 2022, we reached over 8,300 people in 20 states of Venezuela, supporting projects with 18 local partners that are providing children, families and communities with opportunities, dignity and hope. None of this would have been possible without the support of our incredible community - of donors, fundraisers, event attendees, ambassadors, team members, volunteers, and brand partners - all of whom share our vision.
This year, we were delighted to run events to bring some of our community together - including our biggest ever Mercadillo Solidario in Madrid (which had over 1,000 attendees!), a dominoes tournament in London, and of course our annual festive Aguinaldos and Villancicos carol concerts.
We were also grateful to a number of individuals that went above and beyond to fundraise for us: including our nine Royal Parks Half Marathon runners, who raised over £5,000; the force of nature that is Vicente Behrens, who raised over $5,500 by running the New York Marathon; and the team at Adobe, who fundraised over $7,500 for our projects during Hispanic Heritage Month!
We also counted on the support of some amazing brands and corporations, who helped us raise funds and awareness through donations, project sponsorship, and employee match-funding. A special thanks goes to Guasa London, who donated a percentage of all sales of their Chicken Guasa arepa to our school meals programme, providing over 10,000 nutritionally balanced meals to schoolchildren.Â
